Gifts of Securities
The York Region Community Foundation / Vital York accepts many types of gifts including cash, appreciated publicly traded securities, and bequests by will. Given recent positive market returns, we know individuals have once again begun to think about gifting stock, and receiving the applicable tax benefits of donating gifts of shares of publicly traded companies (0% capital gains, and the applicable charitable receipt).
If you are interested in gifting securities, please contact our office and we can provide you with the necessary transfer form. We can work with donors to either existing endowment fund, or establish a new endowment fund to create their own personal legacy.
